Rathfarnham

The brief was to refurbish & thermally upgrade the period cottage and build a new light filled contemporary extension to the rear for a young professional couple. The single storey volume extends for the full width of the site and encloses a small garden to the rear. The living and dining space are enclosed within a 3m high volume, angled to capture the afternoon light. The full height of the cottage was maximised internally, creating a dramatic entrance hall with views through to the garden and providing 3 bedrooms -one on a mezzanine level.
